Supernatural snippet: buried in the skin
I've not wanted to keep spamming with all the updates, but as a heads up, I'm updating the Porn Battle site daily with links to the latest stories/art/poetry, thanks to pesha's hard work sorting and coding. Or you can catch up with the latest entries here, or even, you know, join in and post something. (That not so subtle hint goes out to me too - I've failed so far, but I will, dammit, I will write porn by Wednesday! There, I've said it, I have to now.)
buried in the skin [Supernatural, Dean/girl!Sam, PG-13, 236 words, spoilers for 2.22]
we are so large that the answers locked in our most sacred physiology are not our own. They are buried in the skin we choose to reach for. -- Jessica Piazza - The Astronomer and the Poet
She falls asleep one leg brushing lightly up against Dean's. Hardly touching, really, just enough to know Dean's there. Habit, that last year, ever since she woke up to a borrowed lifetime. Both needing it – nothing said, just sinking into each other each night, closer and closer until everything else was inevitable.
Wakes up both legs tangled in Dean's, everything tangled, arms and bodies and legs, and Dean's hair in her face, prickly-soft in Sam's mouth when she opens it.
It's barely morning, especially for them, getting into bed the dark side of midnight. But it's light, and the birds are singing outside like it's a new day and the world should be awake and living it. And Sam agrees. It's a new day, and it feels like there's no limit to the number of new days they'll wake up to, both of them, but she still wants to enjoy every single one.
She could jump out of bed, fling open the curtains and shout good morning to Dean, to the rest of the world outside who don't even know she exists. She could run naked (as she was born) into the shower and dance involuntarily in freezing or scalding water (the only two temperatures it offers).
She does neither.
She's full of life, but everything she wants right now is in her arms. She curls in tighter, buries her face in Dean's shoulder, and breathes.
